In the footsteps of the paratroopers of the 82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions in the Cotentin Peninsula.

The Mont Saint Michel
The apparition of the Archangel Michael in 708 to Aubert, Bishop of Avranches, prompted him to create an orotary on the granitic islet in the middle of the bay.
Discover the architectural feats of the building monks during over 1300 years, and the breathtaking view of the bay after climbing the 350 steps.
Visit of the abbey (admission not included), the village, and its ramparts.
Unfortunately, the abbey is not accessible to people with motor disabilities or strollers. Good shoes are highly recommended.

Bayeux
Founded in Gallo-Roman times as Augustodurum, Bayeux became part of the Norman duchy of Viking chief Rollon in 924. It was in the 11th century that the town gained in importance, thanks to Odon de Conteville, half-brother of William the Conqueror, King of England and Duke of Normandy. World-famous for its UNESCO-listed tapestry, Bayeux is an inviting place to stroll.
Walking tour of the town, its thousand-year-old cathedral, the historic center with its half-timbered houses and mansions, visit to the tapestry museum (admission not included).
Good shoes are highly recommended.

Experience the Norman postcard...
From the port of Honfleur, where Samuel De Champlain left to found Quebec in 1608, to the village of Beuvron-en-Auge, one of the most beautiful villages in France, with its thatched-roof, timber-framed houses, the Pays d'Auge is the typical Norman landscape, with its thatched cottages, orchards and Norman cows.
On the cider route, visit a cheese factory and taste the cider, then visit a cider house and its cellar.
